All of our larger auditoriums, and some smaller classrooms, have at least one microphone. To use these microphones, you must be logged in to the AV System first.

Once you’re logged into the AV System, you’ll need to locate the microphones.

  • So if you’re standing at the lectern like I am, there is a door that you can open. No keys are needed as there isn’t a lock on the door. And then, when you open the door, we have a red sticker or two that points to the approximate area the microphones are stored in.
  • And then there’s three ways microphones are stored in classroom podiums.
    • Probably the most common way we store microphones is through a locker, and it looks like this. To open it, you just put your finger on this latch, and push down to open it.

      • In some classrooms, we have nice utility drawers that you pull out like a dresser.
      • And then in classrooms with smaller podiums, they can be found on a shelf inside, and they’re pretty clear to see.
  • Anyhow once you find the microphone you want to use, you’ll have to unplug it from the cable, which is very easy to do now.

  • So when you are ready to use them, gently unplug the microphone where the white arrows are as pictured below.
  • To turn the microphone on, press this big button. The manufacturer has the word “Push” etched in the transmitter. We also have labels that list that it’s the on and off button.
  • And then when you are done teaching, to plug them back in, line up the white arrows and plug it back in.

We also have transmitters that have lavalier microphones. If the room doesn’t have a handheld microphone, clip the microphone element at the center of your chest like this and then turn the transmitter on.

Once you have your microphone in your hand, you’re ready to adjust the volume on the touch panel. And one adjusts the microphone volume by pressing the arrows up here.

To proceed with the tutorial, press any of the microphone volume control buttons on the Touch Panel. It can be the up or down or mute microphone volume button. Press one of those, and you’ll get to the next stage of the Tutorial.
