When you plug your PC laptop in an AV System or sound system that it’s never connected to before, you may need to change the audio output on your laptop. You’ll be able to tell if audio is playing from your computer speakers instead of the classroom speakers.
So with your laptop plugged into the video cable, like with just the USB-C cable—–move your cursor to the “sound” icon on your taskbar. Should look like a speaker icon, and is located near the time and date on the far left, bottom side of your display.
Click the “sound” icon.
Click on the text above the volume slider. “Speakers (Realtek(R ) Audio)” on Windows 10 or means the internal speakers of your computer, not the classroom speakers.
So when you click that, you will see more audio outputs. Depending on the classroom you are in, these are the sound output options you should see:
- An option called “DVX 2250” or “NV21” or something similar should generate.
- If you are in a “Collaborative Learning Classroom,” it’ll probably be called “SvSi” or something similar.
- If you are really using just the video cable like USB-C, do not select the sound output that is named after the classroom. That is the sound output for the Wireless Presentation Source and will not work with the USB-C cord or the HDMI cord plugged in.
Anyway, select the output for the USB-Cord, it should be this one…..If you want, you can play a clip from YouTube or a video file on your computer. Audio

————————-USE Ben Johnson’s Windows 11 Laptop—————————
Now if you are using a device that is running Windows 11, the process is a little different. But quite similar.
So what you’ll need to do is to move your cursor to the notification area, which is in the right corner of the taskbar, and click the “Sound” icon.
A menu will open options to change the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, battery and Sound. Click the arrow next to the volume slider.
And then like before, you’ll get a list of sound outputs. Select the output you need which is this one_____read it out_______.
One general thing to note when it comes to switching the audio output on your PC Laptop. If you do not see any of the other audio outputs that I have been showing you, and just your internal computer speakers—that is usually a very clear sign that you need to reboot your laptop. After rebooting your laptop, you should be able to see the audio output you need to play audio in the classroom speakers.

So once you have the audio output properly selected on your laptop, you can adjust your computer volume on the Touch Panel. Now, you might not necessarily need to change the audio output on your computer. But often times, your computer is not intelligent enough to do what you want it to do, which is why we’re showing you what you should expect in some instances.
To proceed with the tutorial, press any of the program volume control buttons on the Touch Panel. It can be the up or down or mute program volume button. Press one of those, and you’ll get to the next stage of the Tutorial.
