Computers and Tablets, much like human beings, also have a cognitive load. Because these electronic devices do a lot of work behind the scenes to do all things we expect them to do, they also need a little rest and self care. Especially if they’ve been running for a long time without rest.
When a device hasn’t been restarted for a long time, the energy and background processes used from doing different applications like word processing, editing and viewing PDFS or running multiple web browser tabs or window can disrupt a proper video signal from reaching the projector. Weird or laggy or glitchy audio can also occur if a reboot hasn’t happened for a while.
We understand that you might want to have certain applications open so that you can work on research or other projects that support your teaching and craft. But it is so very important that you restart your device prior to teaching in a classroom, so that it is in its best condition to display the information you want to impart on your students.
