Laptops with Windows 10/11 installed often do one of two common errors when first connecting to a new AV System. Both can be resolved by changing the display profile of your PC by pressing the “Windows” key and the letter “P” on our Windows laptop.
SCENARIO #1: Black Screen on the projection screen
If you are connected to the AV System, and the projection screen is blank, here’s what to do if you are using a Windows Laptop.
First press the “Windows Key” and the Letter “P” as in projector.
After pressing those two keys, a side menu will appear on the right side of your computer display. If it’s set on “PC Screen Only,” you will want to select “Duplicate.”
After selecting “Duplicate,” the screens should match.
SCENARIO #2: “Extended Desktop” on the projection screen
If you are connected to the AV System, and what’s shown on the projection screen does not match what is showing on your laptop display, here’s what to do if you are using a Windows Laptop.
First press the “Windows Key” and the Letter “P” as in projector.
After pressing those two keys, a side menu will appear on the right side of your computer display. By default, it will often be on “Extend.” If you want the projection screen to show the desktop featured on your computer display, select “Duplicate.”
After selecting “Duplicate,” the screens should match.
To proceed with the tutorial, press the “Projector Mute” button on the Touch Panel.
Scenario #1 has been very common for Windows 11 users or any Microsoft User that had their laptop recently updated.
