How to restart your Windows PC

If you have a Windows PC, click the start menu button,

select the “Power” button on the lower right hand corner

 and click “shutdown” or “restart”

Closing your laptop lid only puts the computer to sleep, and does not successfully clear left over background processes that can disrupt signals from reaching the audio-visual system.

You should also consider organizing your files, applications and desktop.

If you have multiple browser tabs and windows open, and you feel like you’ll need them, it’s best to copy the URLs for all of the webpages you have open and paste them in a document so that you can ascertain later which ones are most pertinent to your teaching, research or personal matters.

Computers and other personal devices, much like human beings, need to rest to perform as expected. Please consider giving your personal device a much needed vacation by restarting or shutting it down.
